Crooked Rooster Dog Resort is a home-based dog care environment where dogs are treated as part of the household, not managed as a crowd. We focus on safety, play, rest, and a peaceful daily rhythm so every dog here can truly have a good day.

This is not a kennel. It’s a calm place for dogs who enjoy being dogs.​

A Day at the Crooked Rooster

Each day follows a gentle, repeating rhythm:

• Morning greetings and breakfast

• Outdoor play and exploration of the property

• Indoor rest and settling

• Play throughout the day, mostly with other dogs

• Dinner at 5:00 PM, followed by affection and one last romp

• Calm bedtime routine

 

Many owners tell us their dogs sleep deeply the next day. That’s a sign of healthy play, fresh air, and a relaxed environment.

Dogs Who Do Best Here

Crooked Rooster is a great fit for dogs who:

• Are house trained

• Have basic training

• Enjoy meeting other dogs and people

• Can play and then settle calmly indoors

• Are comfortable in a home environment

 

We keep things intentionally small so each dog can relax and enjoy their time here.

A Thoughtful, Selective Approach​

Not every dog thrives in a shared home environment, and that’s okay. To protect calm and safety, we’re selective about who we accept.

 

Crooked Rooster is not the right fit for dogs who:

• Are not house trained

• Show aggression toward other dogs

• Show food aggression

• Require constant correction or high-stress supervision

 

This allows us to maintain a peaceful, safe space for everyone.
